Ammonium bi Sulphite and Ammonium Bi Sulphite Catalyzed both are widely used in oil field as oxygen scavenger and/or corrosion inhibitor. Its function is to remove oxygen from the water. Catalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite is used where the result is expected very fast compare to normal Ammonium Bi Sulphite. There are 2 type of catalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite, 1. Nickelcatalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite and 2. Cobalt catalyzed abs. the rate/price of Ammonium Bi Sulphite catalyzed and Ammonium Bi Sulphite normal will have quite difference as both the mtals nickel and cobalt are bit expensive. Still it is many a time cost effective, when we consider, the very less time it takes to react and give the results.

Ammonium Bi Sulphite and  Ammonium Bi Sulphite Catalyzed is also used in water treatment industry, specialty chemical, Photographic industry, X-ray fixture and developer industry, mining industry, sugar refining industry, pharmaceutical industry, Laboratory chemicals.The USB of Ammonium Bi Sulphite Catalyzed is that, as it has a metal catalyst in it, the reaction time is very less and thus the O2 scavenging time is also less. This saves a lot of process time to remove O2 from the system. Obviously the dosage quantity and retentive to move oxygen depends on few factors lite temperature, pressure, specific gravity and etc. but generally to remove 1mmp of dissolved oxygen in water with retention time of 5 minutes the Ammonium Bisulphite used will be approximately 9.5 ppm.

The other difference between Ammonium Bi Sulphite and catalyzed abs is that due to metal content in the color of the solution also changes. Cobalt catalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite will be reddish in color while Nickelcatalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite will be a little green color. Although the Nickel and cobalt content is only .2% in Ammonium Bi Sulphite, it still plays a major role in reaction as a catalyst.

Weather it is Catalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite or normal Ammonium Bi Sulphite both the products are stabilized for longer self-life and can withstand extreme weather conditions. So the product is also known as catalyzed and stabilized Sodium Bisulfite Solution, stabilized Ammonium Bi Sulphite etc.

Compared to the normal Ammonium Bi Sulphite and Catalyzed Ammonium Bi Sulphite, Ammonium Bi Sulphite Winterized remains in liquid state, even at a very low temperature, as down as -20 OC and keeps following with same tendency, and works efficiently even at this low temperature. This product is specially developed for extreme weather condition, where oxygen has to be roved in the system where material is in flowing state.
