Lord Krishna was deeply touched by her gesture, and in return, promised to take care of her from all evils in the world. During Draupadi’s chirharan, when the Kauravas tried to shame and belittle her, Lord Krishna kept his promise by protecting her from dishonor and humiliation. On this day, Sisters put tilak on their brother’s forehead, tie a Rakhi around the wrist, eat sweets, and exchange gifts. On this day the brothers promise to protect their sisters, fulfill their wishes, give blessings, and support them in every endeavor of their lives.
